Networking the simple church movement across europe.

About

Background

In November 2008 a group of network leaders from across Europe met in Zurich to explore ways in which we might work together in order to serve the growing number involved in starting and multiplying simple, organic churches.

This web site is one of the outcomes of that meeting.

Purpose

The purpose of this site is to provide good quality resources on simple, organic church in an European context. It is build to serve as a connecting, informing, resourcing and envisioning point for people who are interested in simple church in Europe.

Simplechurch.eu is not a ministry in its own right; we are not seeking to build our own pan-european network for example; there is nothing to join or become a member of. We are just a group of practitioners who want to contribute to what God is doing and help catalyse this emerging movement.

Vision

Together we share a vision to see disciple-making, church-planting movements springing up and spreading out of (human) control across the continent from East to West, North to South.

As exciting as this sounds however this is not our ultimate goal. Our passion is for Jesus and for Him to receive worship and praise from amongst every tribe, tongue and people group across Europe.

In spite of the obvious challenges we face in Post-Christian Europe we have been encouraged by God’s promises in the book of Amos which, in the Message version, vividly describes the sort of movement we dream of:

“Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree.

“Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings!”

Amos 9:13-15
